How Did Tupac Get Famous

Tupac is one of our most beloved rappers of all-time. His death was untimely (even though most will object) and was one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. Most people who research Tupac often wonder exaclty, "how did he get famous in the first place." It's really a simple explanation....lol.

First of all, let's a look back at when he started. He started out as a roadie, back up dancer and MC for Digital Underground. After some time with them, he went out to do things on his own as a solo artist.

Most of Tupac's music reflected viloence, and inner city hardship. very seldom did you hear his other references towards racism and social issues. His parents were members of the Black Panther Party, who became a major influence in his music.

Tupac pretty much got his break when he signed with Interscope Records, the label who released his first solo album, 2Pacalypse Now. It didn't really generate many top ten hits at the time, this album is constantly referenced by many rappers such as Nas, eminem and Talib Kweli.

Tupac's album, 2Pacalypse Now received some serious criticism when Dan Quayle criticized the album after a young man from Texas claimed he was influenced by 2Pac's 2Pacalypse Now album an its strong theme of police brutality causing him to shoot a state trooper.

When Pac release his ssecond studio album, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. in February 1993. The album opened number 24 on the billboard 200. This album highlighted Shakur's political and socal views. It also had significant commercial success and there was a clear cut difference in Production. This particular album was considered his "BREAKOUT ALBUM." Keep Ya Head Up and I Get Around helped the album reach platinum status.

So, this is pretty much an overview of how he went from the bottom to the top in a nutshell. Check out this blog post on how he was killed. There is many explanations as to how he got killed and who may have killed him. This article puts all of that into perspectve.
